In large saucepot, over medium heat, saute onion and garlic in oil until soft.
Add ham chunks and cook until lightly browned.
Stir in baked beans, chicken broth, bay leaves, cloves and pepper.
Simmer over low heat for 1 hour. Remove cheesecloth bag and serve.
Yield: 12 Servings
