A healthy body requires calcium, yet most people
do not consume enough of this important mineral. Studies show that
9 out of 10 women, 2 out of 3 kids and 7 out of 10 men do not get
the recommended amount of calcium. Calcium helps build and maintain
strong bones and teeth, helps keep our muscles running right so
we can live active lifestyles. Getting an adequate amount of calcium
throughout life may reduce the risk of Osteoporosis.
One easy way to help you reach an adequate level
of calcium is to eat Cream of Wheat at breakfast or as a snack.
Cream of Wheat is an excellent source of calcium; it provides 20%
of the daily value per serving. For an additional source of calcium, prepare a bowl with fat free skim milk. Depending on the Cream of Wheat variety, this will provide between 35 and 70% of your daily calcium requirement.
